Jackson at the playdate... there's a hippie, fairy, ladybug and bear behind him.

This is Jackson's buddy Carston, I love this dog costume!!!

My 2 cowboys!

Immediately after that... haha he hates the hat!!
So my sister was asking me why I was slacking on posting Halloween pictures... to be honest, we didn't do much, but it was fun!!! On the day before, we went to a costume playdate. I put Jackson in his turtle costume from last year since it still fits. Then, for the afternoon when Jes got out of school, we put him in his Cowboy hat, boots, shirt and went to the mall to trick-or-treat. I didn't take any pictures at the mall though, because I forgot my camera in the car... DANG! I did take some cute pictures at home before we went though. We had about 5 trick-or-treaters at home. We had planned for a lot more, but didn't know what to expect. Oh well, I was busy cleaning like crazy for company to come. Jes' parents and aunt came over on Saturday and stayed the weekend. We had a "Thanksgiving" dinner at his aunt's friends house. It was delicious!
Today I have my interview at the Picture People. I'm excited!!! Since I'll be in interview clothes already I was going to run by Applebees and get an application, since I enjoy being a server. Besides, I left there in good terms, so I should be able to get a job. :) I hope everyone has a good week!!! This week isn't as busy since I'm not working yet, but my mom's coming on Thursday!!! :)YAY!!! CHICKEN POT PIE!!!! haha I love you mom!! Hope everyone has a good one!!
I rarely share recipes, but this one is very good!!! I know that my nephew Colby can't have it... bummer!!! Sorry Joe and Kori!!!
Baked Apple French Toast
1 loaf french bread
1 cube butter
1 cup brown sugar
8 eggs
1 Granny Smith apple (or whatever you prefer, but the tart ones make for a great taste in this!)
On the bottom of your casserole dish melt 1/2 cube of butter and spread on bottom. Sprinkle 1/2 cup brown sugar over top of the butter. Grate your apple and sprinkle that over the bottom of the pan. Slice the french bread into 1/2 inch slices and line in pan. Melt the other 1/2 cube of butter, pour over the top. Sprinkle the other 1/2 cup of brown sugar as well. Beat all the eggs and put 1/2 and 1/2 in with it, or milk, once again, whatever your prefer. Pour the egg mixture over the whole pan and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or until crispy.
THIS STUFF IS AWESOME!!!! :)
Well this past couple days have been interesting. It started off Saturday morning, I woke up with a sore throat and over the rest of Saturday and Sunday I had barely any voice. So, since I'm a telemarketer... it's kind of impossible to go and talk on the phone for 5 hours, so I called in sick. I left a message for my supervisor because she didn't answer. About noon on Monday she called me back and said, "Either come in today and tough it out and by the end of the week make 5 sales, or don't come back." Well, I didn't have much of an option... I said, "Well, I can hardly talk and if I were to come in, I'd be constantly coughing and it would just be a mess." So, needless to say, I chose the high road! I'm feeling pretty good about it though. Selling Dish Network is not something I enjoyed, but it was a paycheck... well one, that's coming on Monday since I only worked there 2 weeks. On Monday I applied at Old Navy, The Picture People, Fred Meyer, Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree, Payless Shoe Source and Toys R Us. Yesterday I got a phone call from The Picture People to come in for an interview on Monday at 4. This job is a seasonal one, but hopefully if I get it, they'll keep me on. She asked me to bring 3 things with me that kind of describe me... any suggestions? I was thinking a family picture, my flat iron and I'm kind of lost on what else... My mom suggested my scrapbook, but it's so big! I was hoping to fit everything into my purse, so I don't look like a weirdo! Even though I'm out of work right now it's been kind of nice. I've had my evenings to Jes and Jackson. Last night we all went for a bike ride with Jackson in the bike trailer behind Jes. We finally figured out how to prop Jackson in there so his helmet doesn't make his head go forward enabling him to see. We put a pillow under him and a blanket behind his back and he loved it!! Also a plus... we put him to bed at 9:30 and he didn't wake up until 9 this morning. I had to wake him up though, since we have story time at 9:30am. I wonder how long he would've slept! Crazy boy! I think he's growing some more for sure. Tomorrow we're going to a ward Trunk or Treat. I think Jackson will enjoy that. I may just put him in his turtle costume from last year again. It still fits, and he loves it! Sorry there's no pictures this time... the pictures that I took of our bike ride are on my phone. Hope you all have a good Halloween!!!
Well now that I'm working, I don't have as much time to update!!! I finally heard back from 24 hour fitness but it was just in an email pretty much saying thanks for the interest blah blah blah!! Oh well, I'm happy with Cascade Callworks I suppose. It's really not that bad. I haven't gotten a sale quite yet though. I need to work on my technique I guess. Jackson's doing really well at Sister Davenport's house!!! The other day I had to work a weird shift, so I got to go and pick him up and he didn't even want to leave!!! I'm so happy he likes it there. We were eating pizza that I made tonight and Jackson kept sticking his tongue out at us. He does this weird thing with it and it cracks us up. Enjoy a picture below!!
I'm done with my first day off work! I survived!! I even was on the phone by myself by the end of the night. The good thing about it all, no one was mean to me!!! I was really shocked by that actually! It's nice how some people are so sweet, where others just hang up or say take me off your list. It definitely will make me think twice before I'm rude to a telemarketer now! It was actually kind of fun... I'm sure it won't be every night. I called people in AZ, NY, OR and even WALLA WALLA!!! I didn't recognize the names though. Wouldn't it be weird if I called you?? haha So it was a success. I still haven't heard back from 24 hour fitness, but if they offer me the job there, I'm going to take it! Sounds like it'd be a lot better!!!
Jes is enjoying his job at Sears. It's in Portland, so it's a little bit of a drive, but not too bad unless he hits rush hour. Even then, it's not horrible. I guess it took him 45 minutes yesterday to get from work to Bethany's to pick Jackson up. We'll probably guzzle that gas!! Good thing he takes the Malibu... it gets a lot better gas mileage!! Last night he interviewed at UPS in Portland at 11pm. They do the interviews at the time you're wanting to work. Kind of weird, but that's when it was. He applied for a 10pm-3am shift. He didn't get home until almost 3am and then had to be at Sears at 7 this morning. I was sound asleep when he left. I feel bad that we hardly see each other anymore, but it'll all even out! We're just happy Jackson isn't at a babysitters all day!!!
Today Jackson and I went to Costco to pick up a couple of things and we paid only 3.12 for gas!!! I guess it's 2.99 in Wilsonville which is about 20-30 minutes away from us. My mom is most likely going to to come and spend over a week with us!!! I'm so excited!!! I miss her a lot and I know we all will enjoy her company!!! :) ...and cooking!!!
Well, onto my 2nd night of work here soon!!!
Thanks for all the recent comments... I just wanted to make sure you were all still alive out there!
So as most of you know, I start my new job at Cascade Callworks today at 3:30... well, I interviewed at 24 hour fitness for the kids club attendant position this afternoon and think I'll take that one instead if it's offered. They're both minimum wage jobs but with the 24 hour fitness one, Jes and I would both get FREE memberships!!! How awesome is that?! I think it'd be great!!! Also with 24 hour fitness I'd probably work like 4-8:30, so Jes would be able to watch Jackson and I would leave right when he got home. That would work out even better!!! So Jackson had his first little bit at Bethany's. She's the one watching Jackson during Jes and I's overlap of work. She said he did great. She has a little boy Tanner who is 3 and a little girl Brynsley who will be 1 in December, so they had a good time!! More to come when I go to my first day of work!!
