Good News... & Bad News...

I'll share the bad news first... apparently the job we've been waiting to hear about in Aurora, Colorado is STILL on a hiring freeze and they're way over staffed. We aren't too thrilled at the thought of spending another summer here, but it's looking more and more like reality. So the good news is, we aren't moving... FOR NOW!

It's a relief in a way because the thought of packing a house with two kids doesn't sound like a ton of fun to me. Living here in this house in Yuma is the longest we've ever staying in one place ever in our whole dating/married life. It's been almost 15 months. Crazy, I know... honestly I enjoy change (obviously, since we move every 2 years or less lately.) and making a new place 'home'. If any of you see or hear of any opportunities for a Paramedic pass it along!! We're open to nearly anywhere on this side of the states.

We are all doing well...

Jackson is getting taller, smarter and more and more funny everyday. Some of the things he comes up with just crack us up!! 4 year olds are the best... majority of the time. He definitely has his moments. Onery little guy sometimes!!

Jacob is 9 1/2 months now trying so hard to crawl, but instead has mastered things like eating real food, clapping, waving and copying just about anything we do. He loves to stand up and have us help him walk and I'm certain he'd rather walk than crawl. He loves his big brother and is a HUGE mamas boy!! He weaned himself a couple weeks ago and although he doesn't 'need' me as much he still thinks he does. Silly boy!

I'm keeping busy with my Mom's Club and the kids. The weather is beautiful right now and I'm dreading the hot hot summer... I think I should conveinently plan a trip home during June/July. I think we're aiming for July when my brother Jeff goes home too.

Jes is working hard as always. He recently got his Jeep going really good and has been happy to drive himself to work and back. We took it for a trip to the desert and had a good time this past weekend.

Some updating to do...

Well, here I go again neglecting my blog... My apologies fellow bloggers!!!

Jes got an email back from the job with AMR (American Medical Response) in Boulder, Colorado saying he didn't get it. That was okay. We had waited so long wondering and wondering what had come about him flying there for the interview. Most of you are probably thinking, what a waste... he flew there for the interview and didn't get the job. Well... I kind of thought the same thing, then I realized it was good for him... He stayed with a friend he hadn't seen in almost 6 years and fell in love with Colorado knowing that's where he wants to raise our family.

He had a phone interview with Rural Metro (the company he works for now, so it'll be a direct transfer) in Aurora, Colorado on Wednesday and did great!! He got an email back Friday saying he passed both the interview and the written test they emailed him. Now they're just waiting to see when their orientaion is going to start and we'll be on our way!!! Jes is under the impression that it will be early January making us move a couple days after Christmas. I guess it's still not for sure for sure since we don't know WHEN we're going, but it is definite at the same time. It's a very good pay raise which will be good too... I'm excited/anxious for our new adventure.

It's very sad to think of leaving all of our good friends here, but just like we did in Vancouver and here we will make more friends. We always do... not that it makes it easier, but the reassurance is nice. We have really enjoyed our year and a half in Arizona, but it's just not home..

Jacob is nearly crawling... It's a matter of time before he'll be too fast for me!!! I love the stage he's at right now. So much fun!!! He has his top fangs and his two bottom teeth... he's working on his top two, but they aren't quite down just yet. He loves to eat cheerios, mac n cheese and anything else Jackson, Jes and I are willing to share.

Jackson is doing great and continues to grow and learn. He's so smart!! Sometimes he will come up to me and just randomly say, "Mom.. L is for Lion and C is for Cat" Thank goodness for educational t.v. and friends :) He too has so many friends here!!! That's where it gets hard as a parent... I hate to see him leave them, but it's best for our family right now.

Jes is doing good. He's literally working himself to the ground though!! Seems like he's hardly home. Yes, he has 4 days off in a row, but he rarely takes the full 4 days. He's such a good provider and we appreciate all his hard work!!

I'm doing good... keeping very busy with the kids, cleaning, cooking and my Mom's Club and friends. I am doing really good selling my Scentsy this month so that's exciting!! It's nice to contribute to our household besides the basic Mom stuff. If you're interested in ordering any Scentsy you can order directly from my website at https://janessagoodson.scentsy.us/ It makes great gifts!!

The Interview

Jes had his interview early Friday morning in Denver, Colorado... he feels like it went really well and is anxious (I'm probably more anxious, haha) for the call in what they said is going to be 2-3 weeks. If he does indeed get it, we will be moving mid-November. Jes absolutely fell in love with the area and wants to move that way regardless of the job... I'm game, but you all know me.. I'm a planner and a list maker, so the lists are going!!! Yard Sale planning... U-haul planning... everything!!! I'm excited!!! I have a feeling moving that far with 2 kiddos isn't going to be as easy as it was getting to Arizona with just Jackson... Keep your fingers crossed for us as this is a wonderful opportunity for our family!!! Baby is awake!!! Have a good Sunday!!!

Denver Colorado

Well... as some of you know, we're starting to really explore our options for jobs. Jes got a phone call today and has an interview in Denver, Colorado on the 23rd of this month!!! Crazy and exciting all at the same time!!! We will keep you all posted, but we could be moving pretty quick, YAY!!! (Although it will be just when it finally starts to cool down here.) We miss our 4 seasons, so this would be a nice change, plus... I've never heard anything bad about Colorado.. Keep us in your prayers. Thanks!!! :)

5 Year Wedding Anniversary

July 1, 2006

5 Years Later...

Today Jes and I celebrate 5 years of marriage!!! Time has flown!!! In those 5 years we've moved 8 times, (one being 1200 miles away!!!) had 2 kiddos, went through Paramedic School and have done all the things you do as parents and spouses... The list could go on and on!!! I'll never forget the day we got married... I still can't believe I actually passed out!!! It true... I did... and I thought it was 'hot' there. I would've not come to as fast if I would have been in Yuma then!!! I love him more than ever and I'm so happy with our life here in Yuma!!! Of course we miss our family and friends, but 'living the dream' (Jes having a career as a Paramedic) takes precedence over all. I'm happy to help him fulfill his dreams!!! Love you babe!!!
